When you use a free ranged chicken for any recipe, there is no need to brine or add lots of flavoring, because it is flavorful, tender and juicy already!

Ingredients for 1/2 chicken:

salt and pepper and garlic powder to taste

bake for 30 minutes in 350 degree oven, uncovered, skin side up,  in shallow baking dish, internal temp (in thigh or breast) 170 degrees

grill method:  set grill to 300 degree (temp of grill)  grill over indirect heat, for 30-40 minutes.  Flat side down (skin side up)

 

let rest for 15 minutes and then serve

Left over are great in a salad or wrap for an additional meal
